The Financial Reporting area gives you quick access to key financial reports—like Labor Revenue, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and the General Ledger—all in one place. These reports are designed to help finance teams compare results month over month and year over year to quickly spot trends, understand changes, and make more informed decisions.
Across all financial reports, you’ll have the same set of controls to group results by period, compare periods side-by-side, filter by office, print, and export for sharing or deeper analysis.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Access Financial Statements
To get started, navigate to Menu → Financial → Financial Statements.
From here, you can open any of the available reports—such as Labor Revenue, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and General Ledger. Each report uses the same consistent interface (filters, grouping, comparison, print, and export), so once you learn one, you can use them all.
Grouping By Period
After selecting a date range, use the Group By selector to choose how results are organized by period. You can group reports by month, quarter, or year, depending on how you want to review the data.Grouping by period lets you view results side by side—such as month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, or year-over-year—so you can clearly see how financial performance is trending over time. This makes it easier to identify patterns, understand changes between periods, and keep reporting aligned with how your business reviews and closes the books.
Comparing Periods
After selecting a date range, use the Compare With selector to choose which prior periods to include—such as the previous period or previous year—and optionally show dollar or percentage changes.Period comparisons let you evaluate performance over time by viewing results side by side—such as month-over-month or year-over-year—and see changes in dollars or percentages. This makes it easy to understand what changed between periods and how those changes impact overall performance, all within the same report.
Filtering by Office
Use the Office filter to view financial results for one or more specific offices. This allows you to see how each office is performing, compare results across locations, and better understand how individual offices contribute to overall financial performance.
Printing
When you need a clean copy for review or documentation, you can print any financial report directly from the Financial Statements area. Printed reports are formatted for clear, professional sharing with stakeholders.
Exporting
Financial reports can be exported for deeper analysis, sharing, or audit support. Exports make it easy to work with your data outside of Squava—whether you’re building a custom analysis, preparing a package for leadership, or saving records for documentation.Exported files can be opened in tools like Excel or Google Sheets, where you can further filter, sort, and create pivots as needed.
SUCCESS!!!
You’ve now learned how to use the Financial Statements area. With consistent grouping, comparison, filtering, printing, and exporting tools across every report, your team can review results faster, standardize reporting workflows, and share financials with greater clarity and control.
