In the Banking screen, you can manage one or more bank or credit card accounts. SQUAVA allows you to add, edit, or delete these accounts at any time. You can also link them to a financial institution and sync transactions. Bank and credit card accounts share most functions, with slight differences in features such as how transactions are handled. Step-by-Step Guide
- Add a Bank or Credit Card Register
Add a new bank or credit card register by clicking the Add Bank/Credit Card button in the top right of the screen. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to enter your bank details. Choose “bank” in the type field. You cannot change the account type anymore once you have saved it. You can also link a bank account to a financial institution and sync the transactions to SQUAVA. Tip: The first bank account you add will be set as the default bank that appears every time you go to the bank register or when you reload the page.
- Edit bank account
SQUAVA allows you to edit or add details to the bank account you added. Select the bank you want to edit by using the bank selector, click anywhere in the default bank widget then a list of the bank and credit card accounts you added should appear. Click the triple dots at the far right and choose edit account. You can edit anything in the bank details except for the account type. Once you have added an account as a bank, you cannot change it to a credit account. You could only add a new credit account. You also have the option to link or unlink it to a financial institution under the edit bank pop-up window. See link for linking/unlinking an account to a financial institution.
- Remove bank account
To delete a bank account in Squava, go to the Banking tab and locate the account you wish to remove. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the far right of the bank widget, then select “Delete Account.” Please note that deleting a bank account will permanently remove all transactions associated with it. This action cannot be undone, so be sure to export or archive any important data before proceeding.
B. Add a Credit Card Account
- Add a credit card account
Add a new credit card account by clicking the Add Bank/Credit Card button. A pop-up window will appear where you can enter the credit card details. Choose “credit card” in the type field. You cannot change the account type anymore once you have saved it. You can also link a credit card account to a financial institution and sync the transactions to SQUAVA. - Edit credit card
SQUAVA allows you to edit or update the details of any credit card account you've added. To begin, use the bank selector to choose the credit card you want to edit, then click anywhere within the default bank widget. A list of your bank and credit card accounts will appear. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the far right and select “Edit Account.” You can modify any credit card details except the account type. Once an account is added as a credit card, it cannot be changed to a bank account—you’ll need to add a new bank account instead. Within the Edit Bank pop-up window, you also have the option to link or unlink the account from a financial institution. See link for linking/unlinking an account to a financial institution.
- Remove credit card
Deleting a credit card account will permanently remove all transactions associated with it. To proceed, select the credit card account, click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the far right of the bank widget, and choose “Delete Account.”
